As a designer, I want to make people feel. Whether this be happiness, sadness, or excitement, I want to make connections with viewers, and make them feel like they learned something new, became more informed about something, or just feel better about the world around them. Most of all, I want my work to help our society understand the importance of all art forms. Design is everywhere, and it is something that is too often taken for granted. I grew up not having the opportunity to expand my knowledge of art and design, so I never saw the world from the perspective that I do now. As I have learned and grown, I have come to realize that our world would be boring, uninformed, and lifeless without design.

Design was once just a hobby or something that I would do as a favor for someone, and I never thought of it as a career skill until my family helped me realize that I had a legitimate talent. I have always loved to design and create, so once I learned that it could be more than a hobby in my freetime, I knew that I wanted to implement it into my life as a skill that I could use and enjoy in a job setting. Now, design has just become a part of everyday life. I see it everywhere and I always think of how I could improve a billboard, social media graphic, or logo, so that I can improve myself as a designer. Design has become second nature for me, and I am excited to have my work out in the world!
